Opening Session: Demystifying Digital Transformation

The rules of business have changed. In every industry, the spread of new digital technologies and the rise of new disruptive threats are transforming business models and processes. Digital transformation is inevitable, for organisations who seek to remain relevant in the future. The initiation of any digital transformation journey will focus on three vital aspects of the organization: competencies, technology and processes. Given that each organisation has a unique DNA with distinctive aspirations, the digital journey needs to be individually crafted with clear purpose, technology choices, and implementation specifics. Leaders must take well-informed and deliberative decisions that have enormous implications and could very well define the future of the organisation.

Session on: Would the future role of CTO / CIO be gig?

Traditionally, CIOs and CTOs have served different roles in companies with the former focused on traditional IT strategy and management and the latter on developing innovative new technology, external customer-facing IT or custom software development. However, the research demonstrates that CIO and CTO roles have shifted and converged as a result of this increased focus on digital transformation, compounded by the COVID-19 pandemic. Would the next step be CIO/CTO as a Service which provides the right strategic IT partner available as per the need, on long term or short term, to help align IT with business?
